A Maine native, Gemma has been tattooing since 2009, and has worked in Portland since 2010. She lives in Gray with her husband, John, and their rabbit. Before her career as a tattooist Gemma studied creative writing and literature at Emerson College.
As a tattooer Gemma is drawn to images found in nature; in particular flowers, birds, animals, and insects. Gemma also loves tattoing skulls, daggers, and everything in between. In addition, she is quite skilled at coverups. Whatever the imagery, she creates work with clean lines and believes in making tattoos that compliment the body. Her style is versatile and rooted in traditional elements of tattooing.
She is intuitive and enjoys working with her clients to interpret ideas and create a beautiful custom design for each person.
