One of the most fun aspects of getting ready to open Gemstone Tattoo has been thinking about what the space will look like, and what I want the overall feel of the shop to be. My fiancé, John Astor, is a pretty awesome woodworker and metal fabricator. His company is called Grayboard Custom. He's got some really beautiful pieces in the works for my desk and drawing area. Those will be revealed at a later date! Aside from the space itself I've had to think about branding and all kinds of little details; small things like a 2"x 3" card.
I am surrounded by so many talented friends here in Maine. I had a vision for my new business cards but am not the most computer savvy when it comes to design. I had a rough sketch & color study of what I wanted but was clueless when it came to translating that to something digital.
So, I reached out to my longtime friend, Theodora Medouris Hartford. She has a Portland, ME based company called Made Design Studio. With her help, we transformed my tiny drawing into my new cards. As an artist I love collaborating and connecting with other creative people. It also feels great to support other small businesses! Maine is rich with motivated and talented individuals. Stay tuned for photos of the lovely things John is building for Gemstone!
